The list: December’s hottest European seed investments

Europe’s pre-seed and seed stage companies brought in €3.1bn in 2021 — the highest year on record, up from €2.8bn in 2020.
December saw 218 seed rounds, bringing in a collective €432m. The number of deals was lower than some of the months preceding December — most months of last year saw around 230 deals.
The largest round in December was secured by Structure, a UK-based mobile investing app, which raised €18m.

Payroll startup PayFit is France’s latest unicorn as it raises $289 million

French startup PayFit just announced that it closed a new $289 million Series E round (€254 million) before the holidays. Following this round, the startup has reached a post-money valuation of $2.1 billion (€1.82 billion).
The company has been building a payroll and HR software-as-a-service platform for small and medium companies. It is operating in a handful of European countries — around 150,000 people currently get paid through PayFit.

VERIT Immobilien and Flatfox roll out the first, fully digital reletting process in Switzerland

VERIT Immobilien and Flatfox successfully conclude their pilot test: With immediate effect, the fully digital and mobile reletting process will be permanently introduced at all VERIT Immobilien locations. From the application, to the conclusion of the tenant deposit, to the signing of the lease, to the ordering of name tags, prospective tenants will experience a new, digital customer experience. The new process also enables VERIT Immobilien to shorten the duration of the overall management process by up to 90 percent.
