Katie Haun has raised $1.5 billion for a pair of crypto-focused VC funds, just months after leaving Andreessen Horowitz to form her own firm.Why it matters: This appears to be the largest fund ever raised by a solo venture capitalist, let alone by a solo female VC, and reflects surging investor interest in web3.Details: Haun Ventures raised $500 million for its first early-stage fund and $1 billion for what it's calling an "accelerator" fund.
Obtaining a banking license will have taken longer than expected for Alpian. But the Geneva-based neo-bank, founded in 2019, announced that it has finally obtained the sesame from FINMA. Alpian now plans a public launch in the third quarter of this year.
Alpian adds that it has raised 19 million francs in a series B+ financing round. The neo-bank explains that these new funds will allow it to support the deployment of Alpian's range of services in Switzerland, services based on a model combining private banking and online banking
Climeworks has signed an equity round of CHF 600 million (USD 650 million). The new investor base includes several of the most renowned and largest institutional technology and infrastructure investors globally. The trust placed by those high-quality investors is a testament of Climeworks' strength as the most advanced direct air capture player and as pioneer of the carbon removal industry.
Carecircle is the name of a new social network launched by the Zug-based start-up of the same name. The platform is unique in that it focuses on health. Members will be able to document their health journey via the interface, but also to compare and share their experience with other participants in the platform.
